In the movie Lincoln (2012), Abraham Lincoln gave a quote to two young men,
“Things which are equal to the same thing are equal to each other.”
This quote is known as Euclid’s axioms and common, which is found is an engineering textbook.
But hey! We are here to talk about football! The ongoing Fifa World Cup 2018 and particularly about the gallant Super Eagles of Nigeria.
The super eagles started their campaign against Croatia. And this is the very reason why we started this article with the quote above because words on the street of Lagos is that if Croatia vs. Argentina turned out 3 null in favor of Croatia, who have also automatically secured their next stage ticket then the super eagles might not have performed poorly on their first outing.
The logic is, If Croatia could have beaten Argentina, a team with one of the “descendants of the god of football” Messi (of the course his twin brother being Cristiano Ronaldo), then team Nigeria must have done well escaping with two goals.
Let’s take this a little further, as it has been our tradition; we like putting ourselves in a position where we have to do some permutation and combination. The internet is abuzz with conversations like, “If the super eagles draw against Iceland and beat Argentina…”, or other pundits are rooting for a win between Nigeria vs. Iceland with a possible draw against Argentina.
Is it time to Rethink the super eagles or just leave things to chance? Should we keep all rally behind the boys and keep their moral high? Do we have much hope in Mikel Obi to carry the team on to success? Well, we think we should Rethink the super eagles in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia edition.
Already team Senegal being the only African representative at the Mundial having clenched a victory against Poland, will the Super Eagles follow suit?
It is time to rethink the Super Eagles.
Nigeria vs. Iceland time is 4:00 PM Friday, West Africa Time at the and the match will be played at the Volgograd Arena, Volgograd.
Up super eagles! #RethinkSuperEagles
